The educator said he was only around three to four meters away from the suspect when the gun was fired.
"As in around 3 meter or 4 meter lang yung distance namin. Saglit lang labas siya next room agad putok ka na naman."
Fortunately, he was not hit by the bullet. Based on his observation, the teacher believes the shooting appeared random rather than targeting specific individuals.
Authorities said the suspects allegedly began shooting while still in the hallway before entering classrooms. Some students reportedly tried to run away, but investigators said several victims were chased during the attack. Panic quickly spread across the campus as students and teachers scrambled to find safety.
Police recovered firearms believed to have been used in the shooting. Investigators said one of the weapons was traced to a police officer relative of one suspect, while another firearm was reportedly registered to a security agency in Cebu City. Officials are now conducting a deeper investigation into how the minors gained access to the guns.
