A motorcycle rider who allegedly assaulted a fellow motorist in Sampaloc, Manila is now being sought by the Land Transportation Office (LTO) following an incident featured on "Unang Balita."

According to the report, the confrontation happened on a one-way street in Sampaloc. The two riders were traveling in opposite directions when the incident occurred. Based on the information cited by the LTO, the rider who was allegedly assaulted was the one traveling on the correct side of the road.

As a result, the agency said it considers the incident a case of road rage. The LTO has also started efforts to identify and locate the rider involved in the alleged assault.

The agency is likewise preparing to issue a show-cause order requiring the rider to explain his actions in connection with the incident.

During an interview featured in the news report, an LTO official strongly condemned the rider's behavior.

"Kitang-kita dito na hindi maayos yung ano ginawa niya. Road rage ito. Ito yung mga tao na dapat tinatanggalan ng lisensya. Hindi to' dapat na tumatakbo sa kalye natin."

The video showed a tense encounter between the two motorists before the alleged assault took place. Because of this, the LTO reminded drivers and riders to remain calm and exercise courtesy on the road to prevent confrontations from escalating into violence.

The agency's investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to determine the identity and whereabouts of the rider involved. Depending on the findings, he could face administrative sanctions and other penalties under existing regulations.
