Speaking to reporters, the President revealed that relatives and close friends have long been unsettled by her behavior, especially after she publicly accused him of using illegal dr&gs.
“We do not like to show our dirty linen to the public. I'll just say this much: for a while now we we've been very worried about my sister. When I say we, I'm talking about friends and family. And the reason that is, is because the lady you see talking on TV is not my sister. That view is shared by our cousins, our friends. Hindi siya yan... I hope she feels better soon,” Marcos Jr. said when asked about the senator’s accusations.
The President’s statement painted a picture of a relationship that has drifted far from the public’s perception of a united political clan.

When pressed on whether he and his sister still communicate, he responded bluntly: “We no longer travel in the same circles, political or otherwise. So, no.”
His remarks underscored a growing divide that has become increasingly visible following Sen. Marcos’ repeated criticisms of his administration.
While the President refrained from discussing the details of her allegations, his comments suggested a deeper personal rift that extends beyond politics.
The exchange has sparked widespread discussion about the dynamics within the Marcos family, a clan long perceived as politically cohesive.
For now, the President’s focus appears to be on expressing concern rather than confrontation, emphasizing hopes for his sister’s well-being even amid the controversy.

In another report, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. removed PNP Chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III and appointed Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. as officer-in-charge. Nartatez is from PMA Tanglaw-Diwa Class of 1992 and was previously Deputy Chief for Administration, the second-highest post in the PNP. Torre’s recent reshuffling of senior police officials without approval from NAPOLCOM and DILG was opposed, leading to controversy. As new OIC, Nartatez vowed to strengthen patrols, improve investigations, enforce the five-minute response policy, and monitor integrity in the police force.
Previously, Gen. Nicolas Torre III, the chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), has been relieved from his post. The relief was officially confirmed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. A formal document from Malacañang directed Torre to immediately turn over all office matters, though no reason for the decision was given.
