"According to [Tayum] MPS, naunang nagpaputok itong grupo ni Alcantara doon sa grupo ni Tugadi," said CP/LT.COL. DANIEL PEL-EY, SPOKESPERSON, ABRA PROVINCIAL POLICE OFFICE.
That's when Alcantara's group retaliated with gunfire.
Because of the shooting incident, two of Tugadi's people were killed, while nobody was hurt from Alcantara's.
Responding police intercepted the black pickup of Tugadi, where they found two firearms in its driver.
Because of this, they will be charged with violating the election gun ban.
Tayum Police is already investigating the incident. They have already invited both involved parties.
This was already the fifth election-related incident in the province of Abra.
