A hit-and-run incident in Bacoor, Cavite, early Monday morning left three individuals injured after their e-bike was struck by an SUV.

The collision occurred in Barangay Ligas 1, and the aftermath was captured on CCTV footage, now being used by authorities in their investigation.
The CCTV footage, as seen in a Balitanghali report on Tuesday, shows the SUV traveling along De Castro street in the same barangay.
In the opposite lane, the e-bike, carrying three passengers, was approaching. The SUV driver reportedly flashed their headlights, seemingly signaling their intention to pass.

However, instead of yielding, the e-bike driver made a sudden turn towards a nearby convenience store.
This unexpected maneuver resulted in a direct collision, sending the e-bike riders flying. The SUV, despite the impact, continued on its path, leaving the scene of the accident.
Barangay Tanod Rey Catolico immediately responded, pursuing the fleeing SUV. The e-bike passengers sustained various injuries, including scrapes and cuts, and received first aid treatment at the scene.
The e-bike itself suffered significant damage to its front, and is currently impounded by the barangay as part of the ongoing investigation.
Traffic police are actively investigating the hit-and-run, working to identify the SUV driver and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
They are reviewing the CCTV footage and gathering other evidence to piece together what happened and bring the responsible party to justice.
This incident highlights the dangers faced by vulnerable road users like e-bike riders, particularly at night.
