Police reported that the suspect admitted to being under the influence of illegal substances at the time of his arrest.

The crime occurred last year when the suspect fatally stabbed his friend in the chest and stomach.

The suspect also confessed to being drunk during the incident, which stemmed from a gambling-related conflict that started months earlier.
