The video of Taal Volcano’s “minor phreatomagmatic” eruption early this morning, December 3, has created a stir on social media.

In a report by Inquirer.net, it stated that the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology or PHIVOLCS called the eruption today as “minor phreatomagmatic.”

A quick search online would show that a “phreatomagmatic” eruption is a volcanic event where “magmatic gases and steam from groundwater are expelled” from the volcano.

According to the Inquirer report, the eruption happened at the main crater of Taal.

Based on information from PHIVOLCS, Taal has 47 craters, with the main crater measuring 2 kilometers in diameter.

Inquirer also shared the video of the eruption posted by PHIVOLCS on its official site.

It showed a huge explosion happening at the main crater, with what could be a combination of smoke, dust, and other debris billowing from the point of the eruption.

In other news, a 14-year-old was robbed by four minors in Quiapo. On 24 Oras of GMA, the minor was buying from a store, and he was accosted by five minors as well. CCTV footage caught the whole incident. It was only when the sellers noticed the victim wiping his tears, and called out the minors, eventually reporting them to the barangay.

Meanwhile, in news elsewhere, a 5-year-old child died after he was hit by an ambulance. On ABS-CBN's report, the incident happened in Lupang Arenda, Brgy. Sta. Ana, Taytay, Rizal. The incident happened on Sunday, Dec. 1. Many netizens were asking why the child was outside, on the road at nighttime.
