In an Instagram post on October 16, the Queen of All Media explained why she had stopped providing frequent updates about her condition. She admitted that her latest medical results and the symptoms associated with her newly disclosed illness had left her frightened.
“I have stopped giving you health updates because I’ve been afraid- there are not so great numbers and can you believe a new autoimmune disease that’s exhibiting scary symptoms,” she began.
Despite her ongoing health concerns, Kris had gradually returned to public life in recent months. She worked on endorsement projects and attended an event for a face and body wash brand, giving supporters glimpses of her return to work.

However, she disclosed that an operation had been scheduled after she fulfilled her professional commitments. One of the photographs she shared showed her on a medical table surrounded by doctors and nurses, with September 29, 2026, indicated in the image.
“I finished all the work without ever revealing that immediately after I'd have an operation,” she said.
Kris also expressed gratitude to the medical professionals who assisted her, emphasizing their consideration for her privacy. Although she has yet to have her sutures removed, she said she would proceed with her third infusion of a biologic immunosuppressant afterward. She noted that the treatment had been helping her condition.
Her latest update also offered a glimpse into the difficult periods she experiences away from social media. Kris explained that her online activity often reflects how she is feeling physically, with prolonged absences indicating that she may be struggling with significant pain.
“Thank you for your prayers and words of encouragement. If I don’t post, I am in so much pain that I’m bedridden for 5 days, or if you don’t see reels- that’s the sign, I am in need of more prayers.”
Amid these challenges, Kris said her determination to keep fighting comes partly from the example set by her late mother, former president Corazon “Cory” Aquino. She reflected on how witnessing her mother's experiences helped prepare her for life's uncertainties.
“I don’t want to [add] to your burdens, I’ve read you admire my strength, that’s because I witnessed what our mom went through to prepare us, for life without her. I was 38 when she joined our maker.”
Her sons remain central to her determination to recover. Kris explained that her younger son, Bimby, still needs time to prepare for the responsibility of caring for his older brother, Josh, in the future.
“Bimb still needs more years to be ready for his lifelong responsibility of taking care of his Kuya josh. That’s why ang mama nila hindi pa pwedeng isuko ang laban. 💛❤️💙,” she ended.
Kris first surprised followers in August when she began sharing indications of her gradual return to the entertainment industry. Since then, she has taken on endorsement projects and appeared on the cover of Tatler Philippines' October issue.
Her latest post also addressed the controversy surrounding comments made by a host of the Machong Chismisan podcast about Josh, who is on the autism spectrum. Kris described the remarks as “irresponsible and uninformed opinions.” She explained that she deliberately avoided naming those involved or expressing her full feelings to prevent them from getting the confrontation they allegedly expected.
