Analyn Barro is embracing a different understanding of what it means to be a “boldstar” as she takes on her first leading role in the romantic-comedy film He's Dating a Boldstar, which also stars social media personality Malupiton.

During the film's media conference on October 9, the Kapuso actress admitted that the word “boldstar” initially carried a strong connotation for her. However, her experience with the project has allowed her to look at the term from a different perspective.
“Yung boldstar po very, very strong word talaga para sa akin, Kapag sinabi mong boldstar, 'Uy, bold 'to. Talagang all-out 'to,' parang ganun,” she said.
Despite her initial impression, Analyn stressed that viewers should not immediately judge the movie based on its title. She clarified that the project does not necessarily feature the kind of explicit content that some people might expect from the term.

“Don't judge the book by its cover,” the actress said with a laugh.
She also encouraged audiences to give the film a chance before forming their own conclusions about its content.
“Kumbaga, panoorin muna nila 'tong movie na 'to. Kasi, hindi naman ito talagang all-out boldstar talaga.”
For Analyn, the project has helped broaden her understanding of what makes a person sexy. Rather than associating attractiveness solely with revealing clothing or showing one's body, she believes humor and talent can also make a person appealing.
The actress reiterated a perspective she had previously shared in interviews, emphasizing that being entertaining and funny can be just as attractive as physical appearance.
“Yung dating sa akin ng word na yun ngayon, pwede ka rin namang maging sexy na hindi pinapakita ang katawan mo. Like what I've said sa mga interviews ko before, funny is the new sexy. So, funny is the new boldstar. Hindi naman po kailangan lahat ipakita. It's more on skill, talent, and pagpapatawa.”
Her remarks highlight the approach she hopes audiences will recognize in He's Dating a Boldstar. For the actress, the label does not automatically mean that someone has to reveal more of their body to embody the role.
Instead, she sees the opportunity to showcase a different side of the term through performance, comedic timing, and acting ability.
