Heart Evangelista opened up about why she finds ungrateful friends more hurtful than fake friends or gossipers during a discussion about toxic friendships on GMA's comedy game show The People Have Spoken! The actress and fashion icon explained that being used by someone she considers a friend can be particularly painful, especially when that person has ulterior motives.

The topic came up during Round 2 of the show's October 10 episode, when the celebrity guests were asked, "Sino ang pinakaayaw mong maging barkada? Walang utang na loob, plastic, o tsismosa?" The question prompted the guests to share their perspectives on the friendship traits they dislike most.
For Heart, being fake or gossiping about others reflects an unpleasant character, but ingratitude carries a deeper sting when someone has already been welcomed into a person's life as a friend.
"Para sa akin, kapag sinabi mong plastic (at) tsismosa, those are characters that think of somebody that's not nice. Na parang siguro kapag nakabarkada mo na, parang may mafe-feel ka," she explained.

Heart then clarified why an ungrateful friend would hurt her more. She pointed to the pain of discovering that someone she trusted had entered her life only to benefit from the relationship.
"Kasi talagang pinapasok mo 'yun. So para baliwalain o gamitin ka lang as a friend for their benefit o meron silang ulterior motive. Mas masakit 'yun para sa akin," she added.
Her remarks highlighted the importance of sincerity in friendship and the emotional impact of feeling used by someone who was supposed to be trustworthy. Rather than focusing solely on gossip or outward behavior, Heart emphasized the hurt that comes when a friendship appears genuine but may actually serve another person's interests.
