Labrusca addressed Robredo’s critics in a Facebook post, where he questioned the approach of those publicly condemning the mayor. He referred to some of them as “bida-bida” and “self-righteous,” while also bringing up Robredo’s defeat in the 2022 presidential elections.
“Alam n’yo kung bakit natalo si Leni? Hindi dahil sa mga [DDS], dahil sa tulad nyo .. bida-bida, [self-righteous], ‘ahh basta kami tama blah blah,’” Boom said.
He then pointed to diplomacy as an important consideration in understanding Robredo’s decision to accommodate the Israeli envoy.

“‘Diplomacy.’ Ang [tanong] dyan bakit si Leni ang pinupuntahan? Utang na loob hindi ito ang tamang [oras] kung [ano] man ang [nararamdaman n’yo maghunos-dili] kayo,” he added.
Labrusca’s remarks came as Robredo drew reactions from netizens following Kursh’s visit to Naga City. Some criticized the mayor for welcoming and accompanying the ambassador despite ongoing international condemnation of Israel’s actions in Palestine.
The criticism comes amid heightened discussion in the Philippines regarding the country’s position on the Israel-Palestine conflict. The Philippine delegation was also among those who walked out during Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech at the United Nations General Assembly on September 24, 2026.
The controversy has placed renewed attention on Robredo’s interaction with the Israeli ambassador, with some social media users questioning the decision to receive and tour Kursh.
For his part, Labrusca appeared to urge critics to exercise restraint and consider the diplomatic aspect of the situation before drawing conclusions about the mayor’s actions.
As of the latest information provided, Robredo has not yet released a statement directly addressing the criticism surrounding her welcome and tour of Kursh.
The discussion continues to draw strong reactions online, particularly among Filipinos who have differing views on diplomacy, Israel’s actions in Palestine, and how Philippine public officials should respond to foreign representatives.
