Yasmien Kurdi shared how law school became part of her healing process during a difficult period in her life.

In a Facebook post, the actress explained that studying law gave her something positive to focus on instead of constantly dwelling on the things that had hurt her. She stressed, however, that law school was never easy for her.
“Uy guys, don’t get me wrong! Hindi madali ang law school. Mahirap siya, promise!” Yasmien wrote.
She admitted that being a law student comes with challenging moments, including classroom recitations. There are times when she gets called in class and does not know the answer, which can be embarrassing.

“Napapahiya ka minsan sa classroom with all the recits, lalo na kapag tinawag ka tapos wala kang maisagot,” she added.
Despite those difficulties, Yasmien said law school became a good distraction for her. The demands of studying required her to keep her mind occupied and focused on something else.
Instead of spending her time thinking about painful experiences, she had to concentrate on readings, study cases, and prepare for possible recitations.
“Naging busy yung mind ko. Instead of dwelling on the things that hurt me, kailangan kong mag-focus sa readings, mag-aral ng cases, at maghanda kasi baka ikaw ang matawag sa class at wala kang maisagot,” she explained.
The actress said this was how she gradually dealt with what she had gone through. For her, healing did not necessarily mean forgetting what happened. It also meant finding something constructive to pour her time and energy into.
“Kaya somehow, law school became part of my healing process,” Yasmien said.
Yasmien has also shared that her interest in law is connected to her family and her desire to understand the law better. In a May 2026 interview reported by PEP.ph, she said she wanted to challenge herself and learn how to defend herself and her family.
For now, the actress continues to balance her studies with her other responsibilities. Her latest post offered a glimpse into the personal reason behind her decision to stay busy with law school.
“Ganito lang siguro ako nag-heal—busy, nag-aaral, natututo, at unti-unting bumabangon,” she wrote.
