The controversy centers on a December 2021 interaction on X, where Dustin replied “OTW” to a post from an account that had previously been engaging with him online. The screenshot resurfaced this week, prompting renewed speculation about the actor's intentions behind the comment.

Dustin explained that his response was made years ago as a joke while interacting with people who were tagging him on the platform.

“I replied to a comment on that account maybe around 5 years ago as a joke and simply to interact with people who were tagging me. Wala akong ibang intention behind it,” Dustin said.

According to the actor, he only recently became aware that the account had changed its content. He also claimed that their old interaction was being used to create speculation about him.

Dustin said he initially chose to ignore the renewed attention surrounding the screenshot. However, he eventually decided to address the issue to defend himself and his loved ones from negative comments.

“I know what I meant when I said it, and I won’t let someone twist an old interaction into something it was never meant to be,” he said.

He also emphasized that his decision to speak up was meant to clarify what actually happened rather than fuel the controversy.

“I know what I meant when I said it, and I won’t let someone twist an old interaction into something it was never meant to be. I’m sharing this simply to set the record straight,” the actor added.

Dustin likewise expressed his respect for the LGBT community and appealed to people to be more careful about the stories they create about others.
