Mikee Quintos opened up about her current love life more than a year after her breakup with former boyfriend Paul Salas, revealing that she is now ready to welcome a new romantic chapter.

The Saving Cherry star discussed the current state of her heart during her appearance on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda on Wednesday, August 26. Host Boy Abunda asked Mikee whether someone had already captured her heart following her highly publicized past relationship.

Mikee initially gave an unexpected answer, making it clear that her excitement at present extends beyond romance.

“Ang dami, madami. Hindi ko ibig sabihin, maraming lalaki, pero madami. Like projects, 'yung mga animals na nakita ko, life in general. I'm really excited to see what the next chapters of my life have in store for me.”

Boy appreciated the actress's positive outlook but clarified that he was specifically asking whether there was already a man making her heart flutter.

Mikee then gave a straightforward response.

“Tito, parang ayoko nang binata.”

She later explained that her experience in a very public relationship changed what she now wants from a future partner. Rather than simply looking for someone to date, Mikee said she wants a person who is certain about his intentions and knows exactly what he wants.

“Ito lang, one thing I'm sure of now, I came from a very public naman 'yung relationship, ang gusto ko ngayon 'yung sure, 'yung sigurado na sa gusto niya, kung sino man siya ngayon. Kung sino man out there, I think that's what I'm looking for: someone who's sure.”

Her remarks come more than a year after her relationship with Paul ended. Despite their breakup, Mikee said that she and the actor have maintained a healthy relationship, particularly because they were able to end things peacefully.

Instead of allowing their four-year relationship to be remembered negatively, the former couple chose to carry the good memories and lessons they gained from being together into their individual futures.

“Kasi nag-usap naman kami na 'yung last usap naman namin, napag-usapan namin na dalhin namin 'yung four years namin sa futures namin together na good pa 'yung memory, 'wag bad. So 'yung lessons from each other, apply namin sa next. Like ganu'n 'yung usapan namin,” Mikee explained.

With that chapter seemingly settled, Mikee also made it clear that she is not closing herself off to love. In fact, she said she is ready and willing to love again.

Her comments suggest that while romance is not necessarily her only priority right now, she has become more intentional about the kind of person she wants to welcome into her life. For Mikee, certainty and genuine intentions now appear to matter more than simply having someone by her side.
