Mikee Quintos candidly revealed that she was once annoyed with Sassa Gurl after the latter made content about her thesis issue, years before the two eventually worked together on the movie “Saving Cherry.”

During her interview on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Wednesday, August 26, Mikee discussed the controversy involving Sassa Gurl and clarified that they were not actually enemies. She explained that her frustration stemmed from Sassa Gurl turning her thesis situation into content at a time when they did not know each other personally.

“Hindi, nainis lang ako sa kanya dati, Tito. Kasi ginawan ng content 'yung thesis issue ko. Parang, eh, hindi ko naman siya kilala noon, hindi kami close. Parang, 'Eto naman, close ba tayo? Makagawa kang content, akala mo.'”

Boy then asked about the nature of the content, prompting Mikee to recall how Sassa Gurl portrayed the situation. Mikee said the content showed Sassa Gurl appearing relaxed while joking about not doing her thesis.

“Tito, nakatuwalya, naka-cucumber pa yung mata! Na parang, 'Di ako gagawa ng thesis kasi magsa-spa pa ako.' Nilaro talaga niya ako, Tito. Nilaro niya ako, and that was the whole point of the issue.”

Mikee said she eventually confronted Sassa Gurl about the incident when they had the opportunity to bond.

“And so when we bonded, we were drinking at my place. Diniretso ko siya about it at sabi ko, 'Alam mo, nainis ako sa'yo dati.'”

She recalled that Sassa Gurl initially denied remembering the content but later admitted that she did remember making it.

“In fairness, sabi ni Sassa sa akin—noong una dini-deny niya pa, ano daw yun, di niya maalala. Tapos mamaya, nag-fold na siya na, 'Okay, aminin ko na, naaalala ko yung content.' Gumanoon siya. Pero, 'Give ko sa'yo, Te,' sabi niya, 'Ikaw lang yung dumiretso sa'kin ng ganyan,' sabi niya. Sabi ko, okay lang yun. Like, honestly, I had to clear the air para maka-work kami ng maayos together.”

Mikee emphasized that she chose to address the issue directly because she wanted them to have a better working relationship while working on “Saving Cherry.” Rather than keeping her frustration to herself, she decided to clear the air with Sassa Gurl so they could work together comfortably.

Mikee made it clear that she believes in addressing things openly instead of putting on a front, telling Boy, “Walang plastikan.”

Mikee Quintos is a Filipino actress and singer known for her work in television and music. She gained wider recognition for playing Lira in the 2016 television series "Encantadia." A talented performer since childhood, Mikee began singing publicly at age seven during her parents' political campaigns. Alongside her acting career, she pursued her interest in architecture and earned a Bachelor of Science in Architecture degree from the University of Santo Tomas in 2025.

In the same interview, Mikee discussed her plans to complete the requirements for the architecture licensure exam.
