During an interview with King of Talk Boy Abunda earlier this week, Chariz admitted that although she has learned to understand her family’s situation, there are moments when the reality of being separated from her children becomes painful.
Chariz and Nestor parted ways several years ago and share two children. They have continued to co-parent their kids, while their annulment was finalized in 2025.
One experience that particularly affected Chariz happened when her children traveled abroad with their father. She recalled feeling hurt after they failed to contact her despite her repeatedly reminding them to keep her updated.

“May isang time na sinabihan ko yung daddy nila tsaka sila na pag uwi niyo dito, wag na muna kayong bumalik sa akin kasi masakit sa akin na ilang beses sinasabi na imessage niyo man lang ako para alam ko kung okay kayo diyan. Minsan talaga wala talaga–– Pasko hindi ako tinawagan. Pero naiintindihan ko,” she recalled.
While Chariz acknowledged that she understood why the situation happened, she admitted that understanding it did not completely erase the sadness she felt.
“Pero nalulungkot lang ako kasi siguro nga hindi ko talaga gusto na mahiwalay sa mga anak ko. Malaking decision for me yung makipaghiwalay sa daddy nila kasi alam kong hindi ko sila makikita araw-araw–– masakit yun,” she continued.
The actress also became vulnerable when discussing how motherhood can sometimes leave her feeling overlooked despite the responsibilities she carries.
“Minsan lang talaga nalulungkot. Minsan kasi, pag nanay ka ikaw yung gumagawa ng toughest jobs and decisions pero parang feeling mo madalas ikaw yung pinaka hindi importante. I feel that a lot,” she revealed.
For Chariz, work has also become a source of fulfillment because of the respect and validation she receives from the people around her.
“Kaya pag nasa work ako, masaya talaga ako pag nasa work ako kasi ibang fulfillment talaga yung nabibigay sa akin nung mga kasama ko sa work. Iba na talaga yung relationship namin doon–– lahat, everybody sa work. They respect me a lot, we respect each other a lot. I’m validated,” she added.
She further recalled reaching a point when the emotional and physical exhaustion became overwhelming.
“Nagbreak down ako ng isang beses, sabi ko pagod na pagod ako kasi lahat kayo inaalagaan ko, pati mga helpers iniintindi ko, sino ba mag-iintindi sa akin? Sino mag-aalaga sa akin? Sabi ko, pagod na pagod ako ayoko umuwi,” she recalled.
Despite these difficult moments, Chariz emphasized that her children remain at the center of her decisions. Having experienced parental separation herself, she said she understands the things children may need from their parents.
“Lahat ng hinahanap ko before, alam ko kung ano kailangan nila because it happened to me. Hindi naman dahil sa masama siyang nanay pero she was not physically here,” she said.
Chariz ultimately stressed that being a parent goes beyond providing for children, emphasizing the importance of being present in different aspects of their lives.
“Ang magulang kailangan present, present physically, emotionally, mentally,” she ended.
Chariz Solomon is a Filipino actress, comedian, and television host who first entered the Philippine entertainment industry as a contestant on StarStruck: The Next Level in 2006. She has since established herself as one of GMA Network's prominent comedy personalities, best known for her long-running roles in flagship shows like Bubble Gang and Pepito Manaloto.
In another report, Chariz Solomon revealed that she had finally received half of the talent fee owed to her for her work on the now-defunct noontime program “Tahanang Pinakamasaya.” The actress and comedian said the show’s management had released 50 percent of the unpaid fees to its hosts, along with some staff and production personnel. Chariz clarified that the workers were not simply angry about the delayed payments, but genuinely needed the salaries they had already earned from working on the program.
