Jodi explained that Putol was initially a stray dog who frequently visited her property outside Manila. She would see him through CCTV cameras drinking water from her pool and sleeping in the area at night, often accompanied by other stray dogs.

And then sa gabi, dun siya matutulog,” she said.

When Jodi eventually met Putol in person, she immediately noticed that he was injured. She recalled that the dog had a wound on his face, an injured paw and a damaged left eye, which she believed could have resulted from an accident.

However, Jodi's plan to return to Manila without Putol quickly changed. As she was leaving, she saw the dog running after her vehicle.

So eto na yung tinatawag nating ‘Stop-the-car‘ moment,” she shared.
“Nung nakita ko siyang sumusunod from the side view mirror, talagang sinabi ko ‘stop!’ And then from there, inuwi ko siya.“

Jodi then brought Putol to a veterinarian, where she learned that his left eye could no longer be saved. Despite the loss of his eye, his other injuries eventually healed.

“And then the following day, pina-vet ko na siya.

Jodi considers her rescued animals part of her family, describing them as her children alongside her son Thirdy.

“Sila ang aking mga anak. Katabi ko sila matulog. Ang panganay ko ay si Thirdy. So yan po ang aking small fur family.”

Beyond sharing Putol's rescue story, Jodi used the event to remind pet owners about the importance of including animals in emergency plans, particularly during the rainy and monsoon season.

“Right now, nasa monsoon season na tayo so itong mga nakaraang linggo talagang walang tigil ang ulan, nandiyan din talaga yung pagbaha and may mga areas talagaa na kailangang mag-evacuate yung matign mga kababayan because tumataas ang tubig. Isa lang din siyempre sa panawagan ko ang evacuate and leave their homes and huwag kalimutan ang kanilang mga fur babies. Sana isama nila as much as possible at huwag silang iiwan,” she said.
