Comedian Dennis Padilla has spoken out in defense of Senator Robin Padilla, saying he was deeply hurt by the harsh insults frequently thrown at the lawmaker, particularly the label that many critics have used against him.

Dennis shared his thoughts during an interview with members of the entertainment media at the recent Maddox Iconic Runway: Diamond Jewelry Fashion Show 2026. When asked about the most painful criticism he had heard about his longtime friend, the comedian did not hesitate to identify the word that bothered him the most.
“Nasasaktan ako do'n sa sinasabing 'bobo' [si Sen. Robin]. I hate that word. Kumbaga, wala namang bobong tao.”
He explained that while people are free to disagree with public officials, there should still be limits when expressing opinions. Dennis emphasized that personal insults only lower the level of public discussion.
