Rocco Nacino has revealed that preparing for his upcoming role in GMA's action-drama series Hari ng Tondo came with an unexpected professional sacrifice, as he was forced to decline several projects because of his distinctive hairstyle for the show.

The actor's noticeable line-up haircut, which was specifically designed for his character, became a challenge when other work opportunities came his way. Although he did not disclose the exact projects, he admitted that the look prevented him from accepting some offers.
“Marami akong proyekto na i-hindi. May isa but I have— Di ko pa pwedeng sabihin, but I have a few international projects na willing naman mag-cooperate,” Rocco shared.
The actor spoke with GMANetwork.com during the recent launch of Marstek PH, a brand endorsed by his longtime friend Dingdong Dantes. During the event, he discussed both his upcoming television project and his growing appreciation for portraying antagonist roles.

In Hari ng Tondo, Rocco will portray a powerful syndicate leader whose actions will create serious problems for the lead characters played by Dennis Trillo and Ruru Madrid. He admitted that the role becomes increasingly darker as the story unfolds.
“Pasama nang pasama yung character ko dito. Isa akong head ng syndicate na magpapahirap kina Dennis at Ruru. I'm enjoying the role.”
The actor also shared that his recent projects have allowed him to fully embrace what he described as his "kontrabida era." While he remains open to returning to lead roles someday, he believes that playing villains has given him opportunities to explore different acting styles and challenge himself creatively.
“Sa mga ginagawa kong role ngayon, ine-enjoy ko ang kontrabida era ko.”
“Of course, I would like to go back to doing leads. But the freedom to play around with characters, just to explore and be outside of your comfort zone, yun ang nae-enjoy ko rito.”
Despite knowing that villain characters often receive negative reactions from viewers, Rocco said he has no reservations about taking on such roles as long as audiences remember his performances.
“I don't mind. As long as they remember me, that means I'm doing my job well.”
Before audiences see him in Hari ng Tondo, Rocco will first appear in the Cinemalaya International Film Festival entry Tirik, which will be screened at Shangri-La Red Carpet Cinemas, Gateway Cineplex 18, and Ayala Mall Cinemas from August 6 to August 18.
Enrico Raphael "Rocco" Nacino is an acclaimed Filipino actor, registered nurse with a master's degree, and Navy reservist who first gained widespread recognition as the Second Prince in season five of GMA's StarStruck. He has since earned critical acclaim for his performances in notable television series and films, including Encantadia, the Philippine adaptation of Descendants of the Sun, and The Dance of Two Left Feet.
