Jericho Rosales and Janine Gutierrez revealed that they had an agreement before they officially became steady as a couple.

During their conversation with Karmina Constantino-Torres on "KC After Hours," Echo looked back on the early stage of their relationship and admitted that he initially had some doubts.

The actor explained that he had spent years getting to know himself better before entering a new relationship.

Even when he and Janine started seeing each other, he was still questioning whether he was completely ready.

Echo recalled that there was even a time when he asked Janine if she wanted to reconsider her decision to date him.

Janine, however, was more certain about what she wanted.

The actress said she had already learned a lot from her previous experiences and knew what she expected from her next relationship.

She also made it clear that she did not want them to continue if they were not both sure about what they wanted.

For Echo, Janine's response helped him understand how serious and certain she was about her decisions.

As their relationship developed, the two decided to put their work first before officially becoming steady.

"Let's finish the show before we go steady," Echo recalled of their agreement.

Although they planned to wait until the project was finished, the actor said they were already dating whenever they had time.

Their relationship eventually became public in August 2024 while they were working together on "Lavender Fields."

Janine also recalled that during that period, she would often follow Echo's lead when it came to how much of their relationship they would share publicly.

As time passed, the couple became more comfortable talking about their relationship while still keeping some parts of their personal lives private.

Echo also explained that eventually, he realized he could not wait until every question or doubt disappeared before committing to a relationship.

The two have since continued balancing their personal relationship with their respective careers.

They are also working together again in "The Loyalty Game," where they play another set of characters while maintaining that their personal relationship remains separate from their work.

Echo emphasized during the same interview that he and Janine do not consider themselves a traditional love team. Instead, he described them simply as a team that can work professionally together.
