As Janine Gutierrez and Jericho Rosales prepare to celebrate their second anniversary as a couple, the actress reflected on how unexpectedly their relationship began and why she believes it happened at the right time.

Speaking during Kylie Verzosa's appearance on the Almost Honest podcast, Janine shared that before she met Jericho, she had written a list of qualities she hoped to find in a future partner. She explained that the exercise was not intended to immediately attract a relationship but to remind herself not to settle for less.

"Super unexpected also that I'm with Echo. I mean, I never would have seen it coming. This is funny, but I wrote down a list of characteristics before of what I wanted my future partner to be like, and then when I met Echo, first time meeting him and hanging out with him alone, I said, 'Oh my gosh, siya lahat 'to.' So, feeling ko nag-work talaga 'yung like writing down," the actress shared.

Janine continued by explaining that she viewed the experience as an answered prayer rather than mere coincidence.

"I got to manifest. But not even to find someone right away. I just wrote down a list so I won't settle for any less, and then when I met him, I was like, 'Wow, Jesus heard me,'" she said.

Aside from discussing their romance, Janine also spoke about working with Jericho in the Prime Video series The Loyalty Game. According to the actress, having her real-life partner beside her made it easier to leave behind the emotional intensity required by the series once filming ended.

"Working with him is super fun kasi we were able to shake off the heaviness of the story when it's packed up. Or when it is a rest day, we go somewhere to eat or pasyal lang or drive around Iloilo, which super ganda ng Iloilo by the way and Bacolod," she shared.

She added that their time together outside the set helped provide emotional balance throughout production.

"So at least there's a balance because I think if I wasn't doing this project with him, sobrang much harder, super bigat and I am glad that we are so lucky that we got to work together so I am so grateful for that," Janine explained.

The actress also revealed that their relationship has remained professional while working together. She said they have never experienced a disagreement that carried over onto the set.

"Luckily we never had a fight that crossed over to work and like this whole The Loyalty Game, wala naman kaming fight. Actually, we don't really fight-fight. So it never came to a point na parang di kami nagpapansinan at work or anything like that, so I'm super lucky in that sense," she highlighted.

With nearly two years together, Janine's reflections offered a glimpse into the values that shaped her relationship with Jericho and how those same qualities continue to support both their personal and professional partnership.
