She then described the conditions they lived in during her younger years, revealing that they grew up in a squatter community where even basic necessities were difficult to afford.

Wala kaming kubeta!”

According to Donita, one of the biggest challenges their family faced was her father's illness. He suffered a stroke for a decade, preventing him from working and leaving her mother to shoulder the responsibility of supporting everyone.

“Sobrang hirap namin dati talaga, kasi father ko is talagang may sakit noon. Ilang years, 10 years na-stroke siya.

Despite their struggles, Donita emphasized that their family remained close and content. She said those difficult years taught her that happiness cannot always be measured by material possessions.

Looking at her life today, she acknowledged how far she has come, saying she now has a house, a vehicle, and financial stability. However, she has never forgotten where she came from or the lessons she learned from those difficult times.

Donita said that despite now having a house, a car, and better financial stability, she has never denied the difficult situation their family once faced. She shared that they remained content with what they had and added:

Donita also shared her belief that genuine happiness is not exclusive to those with wealth. She pointed out that many Filipinos who live modestly still choose to value togetherness and peace of mind over financial success.
