During an interview on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” BB shared that doctors in America diagnosed him with a cardiovascular condition after discovering a blockage in his heart. The diagnosis led him to seek further medical advice before agreeing to undergo a recommended procedure.
“So sa America, I was diagnosed with a cardiovascular condition, nakakita ng blockage sa puso ko,” BB said.
The former actor admitted that the situation became emotionally challenging while he was still in the United States. Doctors had advised him to undergo an angiogram, but he initially hesitated because he wanted to be certain about the diagnosis and the treatment being proposed.

“I was very emotional in the States. I was supposed to have angiogram there, go through the whole process,” he recalled.
“But I wasn’t sure kasi sabi ko I don’t know if I’m too young for that kasi they wanted to distend on my heart already,” he added.
Because of his concerns, BB decided to return to the Philippines to seek a second opinion from local medical experts. After consulting doctors in the country, he eventually agreed to undergo the angiogram procedure.
According to BB, the second opinion gave him more confidence in moving forward with the next steps regarding his health. He revealed that the procedure was conducted last week.
The health scare also pushed him to reassess his lifestyle and daily habits. BB said he made significant changes to improve his overall well-being while dealing with the condition.
“During that whole process, I changed my lifestyle, I changed my diet,” he shared.
The content creator also explained that his recent trip to Iloilo was part of his effort to recover physically and emotionally.
“Also, that’s the reason why I went to Iloilo, just to have that clear air, just to really magpahinga,” he said.
Despite the challenges, BB emphasized that he remains active but has become more mindful of his health. He admitted that adjusting to certain limitations has not been easy, especially because he has always maintained an active lifestyle.
“Parang hindi ko kaya ‘yung biglang hindi ka na puwede maging active,” BB said.
BB, who was previously known in Philippine show business as Rustom Padilla, continues to focus on his recovery while adapting to healthier habits following the diagnosis.
Bb. Gandanghari, born Rustom Cariño Padilla, is a Filipino actress, model, and director who initially rose to fame in the 1990s as a successful matinee idol in the Philippines. She later reintroduced herself as a transgender woman in 2009, eventually legally changing her name and gender, and recently graduated summa cum laude from the Los Angeles Film School.
In another report, BB Gandanghari shared how she reached out to the family of the late Ateneo athlete Rene Baterbonia to offer her support during their difficult time. She revealed that Senator Robin Padilla encouraged her after learning about the family’s tragic loss. During her visit, BB witnessed the deep sorrow of Rene’s parents both at the wake and at the location of the accident. According to her, the loss of a child leaves a lasting wound that never completely fades and instead becomes a burden that families gradually learn to carry.
Meanwhile, BB Gandanghari revealed that she is open to making a return to the Philippine entertainment industry and taking part in local productions once again. The actor-director shared a desire to reconnect with GMA Network, citing its reputation for producing high-quality content. Beyond acting, BB also hopes to pursue opportunities in directing, producing, and creating original projects. She disclosed that one of her film ideas is already under discussion with a producer as efforts continue to secure the necessary funding.
