During the second part of his recent interview with showbiz insider Ogie Diaz alongside longtime partner Julia Montes, Coco looked back on the painful chapter involving Katherine and explained what moved him to let go of the past.
According to the actor, he was deeply touched when he watched Katherine sincerely apologize.
“Noong pinapanood na namin si Kath, na-touch talaga ako no’ng humingi siya ng sorry. Kumbaga sabi ko, sino ba naman ako na humihingi ng tawad sa ‘yo ‘yong tao after all kahit gaano kasakit.”

Coco admitted that while he was hurt by what happened years ago, he believed forgiveness was the better choice. Before extending help to Katherine, however, he first consulted his grandmother, whom he said was affected even more by the accusations made against him.
“Sabi niya, ‘Tulungan mo.’ Gusto ko ipagamot ‘yong mata, ipaayos ko. Tapos sabi niya, ‘Sige.’ Kaya pina-contact ko agad. Tinawagan namin.”
The actor also shared that he discussed the matter with Julia Montes since she manages his finances. He said Julia immediately supported the idea and never questioned the expenses involved.
“Nakikita ko kasi ‘yong kagandahan ng puso ni Juls.”
“Walang pag-aalangan na ‘Uy, baka magkano ‘yan.’ [...] Kaya all the way kung ano man ‘yong nakikita ko, naiisip ko paano ulit makakabangon si Kath, talagang lahat. Hanggang sa pinasok namin sa ‘Sigabo.’”
Coco further revealed that Julia even embraced Katherine when they eventually crossed paths on the set of their latest project, showing that there was no lingering resentment between them.
Reflecting on where they stand today, Coco said the painful chapter has already been left behind.
“Wala na talaga, talagang burado na. And then sobra kaming happy talaga.”
Katherine publicly apologized to Coco during her guest appearance on broadcast journalist Julius Babao’s vlog in February 2025.
Their controversy began years ago after Katherine claimed that Coco was the father of the child she was carrying. However, a DNA test later confirmed that Coco was not the child's biological father, putting an end to the issue.
Now, Coco said forgiveness has allowed everyone involved to move forward with peace.
