In a public social media post, the actress-turned-politician made it clear that her roster remains incomplete, stressing that voters need ample time to scrutinize the performances of prospective candidates before casting their ballots. She noted that checking track records is essential for the electorate before finalizing any choices.
Should the political exercise be conducted immediately, however, Melendez revealed that Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte secures the highest spot on her ballot.
"She transformed Quezon City into one of the country’s most progressive and people-centered local governments through reforms in governance and public services," says Melendez.

The councilor highly praised the local chief executive for institutionalizing policies that cater to vulnerable sectors, including women, senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and the LGBTQIA+ community.
"She has shown that transparency, innovation, and compassion can all exist in public service. I believe the kind of leadership she demonstrated in Quezon City deserves a bigger platform in the Senate," says Melendez.
Apart from Belmonte, Melendez highlighted former Commission on Elections commissioner and Commission on Audit official Atty. Rowena Guanzon as another major preference. She pointed to Guanzon's unwavering stance against institutional malpractice and government overreach.
"She isn’t afraid to challenge powerful personalities when she believes the law and public interest are at stake," says Melendez.
Completing her current trio of choices is Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto, whom she described as a beacon of transparent and corruption-free local governance through digitalization and public service efficiency.
"He represents a younger generation of leaders focused on good governance rather than traditional politics," says Melendez.
Despite her early pronouncements, Melendez reminded her followers that these choices reflect her personal views at the moment and could still evolve as the political landscape shifts closer to the election year. She firmly advised the public to prioritize tangible achievements over empty campaign narratives.
"Netizens, who are your Senate bets for 2028? Let’s keep the discussion respectful. We may have different choices, but at the end of the day, we all want what’s best for our country," says Melendez.

In another report, Aiko Melendez expressed her gratitude after sitting down with Karen Davila for an interview on her YouTube channel. The actress said she found their conversation both enjoyable and refreshing, adding that Karen was warm, humble, and very easy to speak with. Aiko also admitted she did not expect them to share so many laughs during the interview. The full episode will premiere on Aiko Melendez's YouTube channel this Saturday at 7 p.m.
Meanwhile, Aiko Melendez proudly shared a touching moment involving her daughter, Marthena Jickain, after the latter received her first-ever salary. Rather than spending the money on herself, Marthena chose to use it to treat her mother to a special lunch date. The thoughtful gesture deeply moved Aiko, who said that the opportunity to spend quality time talking and laughing with her daughter meant far more to her than the meal itself.
