Actress Maureen Larrazabal shared her hope that same-s*x marriage will become legal in the Philippines in the coming years, a statement she made during Pride Month celebrations and while marking the 16th anniversary of the long-running GMA sitcom “Pepito Manaloto.”

Larrazabal, who has portrayed Mara Quijanos on the series for many years, was asked about what she hopes to see happen to her character if the show continues for another four years and reaches two decades on air.

“Sana if 20 years pa kami, I hope by then ma-legalize na ang same-s*x marriage dito.”
