Male models and pageant contestants Kenneth Marcelino and Kenneth Cabungcal have turned to an unconventional fundraising effort to help family members affected by the recent earthquake that struck parts of Mindanao.

The two announced that they are selling underwear previously worn during a recent Bench video project, with all proceeds intended for relatives who suffered losses following the disaster.

Marcelino, first runner-up in Mister Cosmopolitan 2025, shared the appeal through a Facebook post after finally receiving updates from his family in General Santos City. According to him, communication had been difficult because the affected area experienced power outages following the earthquake.

In his post, Marcelino revealed that the situation of his relatives remains challenging after their home sustained damage during the strong tremor that hit on June 8, 2026.

“Isang malungkot na araw po para po sa aming pamilyang nabiktima ng Lindol noong nakaraang araw,” he wrote.

He explained that the family only recently managed to receive news from their relatives.

“Ngayon lang po kami nakakuha ng update ang pamilya namin na taga Gensan dahil po nawalan sila ng kuryente, hindi po okay ang lagay nila doon nasira po yung bahay nila dahil sa malakas na Lindol noong June 08, 2026 Lunes.”

Faced with the situation, Marcelino and Cabungcal decided to contribute in a unique way by putting personal items up for sale and directing the earnings to those in need.

“Nais po sana namin lumapit sa inyo para sa kaunting tulong.”

He then disclosed the unusual fundraising initiative.

“Si Kenneth po and ako napag isipan namin na ibenta ang brief na nagamit namin sa isang video for Bench nung isang araw.”

Marcelino emphasized that the money raised would go directly to his grandmother and other affected family members in General Santos City.

“Ang makukuha po namin na benta dito ay maidodonate po lola ko and sa family ko po from Gensan.”

He ended his message by thanking those willing to extend assistance.

“Maraming Salamat po sa agad sa tulong ninyo!”

The appeal quickly drew attention online, with many social media users reacting to the pair’s unusual but heartfelt effort to raise funds for their loved ones recovering from the effects of the earthquake.

Kenneth Cabungcal is a Filipino pageant titleholder and model who achieved international recognition as the 4th Runner-Up at the Mister Supranational 2025 competition. He frequently collaborates with fellow model Kenneth Marcelino, the 1st Runner-Up of Mister Cosmopolitan 2025, with both men recently walking the runway for Bench Body during Bench Fashion Week 2026.

In another report, members of the sports community, public figures, and basketball supporters expressed their condolences following the deaths of two Ateneo players. The incident reportedly occurred during a team-building activity in Dipaculao, Aurora. Authorities stated that their investigation found no signs of foul play surrounding the tragedy. Ateneo de Manila University also released a statement mourning the loss and requested prayers, respect, and privacy for the grieving families during this difficult time.

Meanwhile, Chinese actress Zhang Yingfei, popularly known as Linda Walker, paid a visit to Quezon City High School as part of a community outreach initiative. She participated in the activity alongside representatives from Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc., the Department of Education, and the Quezon City local government.
