During the Star Magic Spotlight press conference held on May 21 at the Dolphy Theater inside ABS-CBN, Joshua shared that he unexpectedly came across the altered image while casually browsing memes about himself on X during a makeup session.

“Nag-search kasi ako sa [X] ng meme ko and then minemake-upan ako ni Ryan nu'n,” he recalled.

“Tingnan niyo 'yung katawan ko rito. Payatot pa ako,” he said jokingly.

Joshua admitted that the growing presence of artificial intelligence online has become impossible to fully control, especially for public figures constantly exposed on social media.

“I don't know, man. Like sobrang dami nang AI sa internet. Hindi na siya ma-control. And I'm pretty sure hindi lang ako ang makaka-experience niyan sa napakaraming taon na dadaan,” he explained.

When asked whether the situation alarmed him, the actor maintained that he stayed calm because he already knew the image was fake.

“Hindi naman. Kasi alam ko namang hindi ko katawan 'yun,” he said.

Joshua even joked that he may eventually need to upload a real photo of himself just to bury the manipulated image online.

“Kailangan kong mag-post ng ganu'ng totoo talaga para matakluban 'yung fake AI body ko,” he laughed.

The actor joins other Kapamilya personalities who have previously dealt with AI-generated content online, including Anne Curtis and members of BINI. Such fabricated images often spread rapidly across platforms and become difficult to completely remove once they gain traction.

At the same event, Joshua also opened up about another personal matter — his discomfort when filming intimate scenes and showing more skin on camera, despite already doing several projects requiring such scenes.

The actor, who recently worked with Ivana Alawi in “Love Is Never Gone,” admitted that confidence in revealing scenes has never truly become easy for him.

“Actually, hindi ako comfortable at all doing love scenes. Like showing my body? Hindi ako comfortable sa camera,” Joshua confessed.
“Du'n nanggaling ang pagiging aktor mo, oo. Not comfortable talaga. Showing your body? Ang hirap nu'n ah,” he added.

Joshua Garcia is a 28-year-old Filipino actor who grew up in Bauan, Batangas, before launching his entertainment career in 2014 as a popular housemate on the reality show Pinoy Big Brother: All In. He has since risen to become one of the country's most acclaimed dramatic leading men, famously known for his powerful performances in hit television series like The Good Son and his record-breaking box office success in the romantic drama film Un/Happy for You.

In another report, Joshua Garcia admitted that he is still unsure whether he has ever been cheated on in a relationship. The actor jokingly said that other people might know the answer better than he does, which amused many fans online. Joshua also became candid about experiencing burnout and acknowledged that some rumors surrounding him may have a bit of truth to them.

Meanwhile, Joshua Garcia also revealed that he and his former girlfriend Julia Barretto chose to film their intimate scene in “Un/Happy For You” without an intimacy coordinator. According to the actor, the scene felt “too studied” during rehearsals with guided coordination, prompting them to rely more on natural emotions while filming. Joshua explained that unexpected reactions between actors can sometimes create the “magic” needed for emotionally heavy scenes.
