During his guest appearance on the show “Your Honor” on May 23, Fonz reflected on what he called one of the biggest “plot twists” of his life. Before entering the entertainment and digital content industry, he had an entirely different dream in mind — working in Singapore as a barista.

“Siguro isa sa pinaka-ultimate na plot twist is 'yung napasok nga ako kay Madam Kris Aquino,” Fonz shared.

He then recalled a difficult chapter in his life when he was unemployed and financially struggling while trying to secure a job abroad. According to him, he had already prepared documents and believed the opportunity was certain until the person helping him suddenly stopped communicating.

“Ito 'yung time na as in wala ako kapera-pera, wala akong katraba-trabaho,” he said.

Fonz explained that he had previously worked at a coffee shop in Singapore before returning to the Philippines to process his papers. However, the acquaintance who promised to assist him and compensate him for his work allegedly disappeared.

“Sabi niya, 'babayaran kita sa trinabaho mo dun pagbalik natin'. Nung pabalik na kami, hindi na siya nagparamdam,” he recalled.

When asked if he felt scammed, Fonz answered:

“Slight.”

Despite the disappointment, the setback unexpectedly pushed him toward a completely different direction. While staying at home and feeling bored, he began creating humorous content online. One of those videos featured a meme-style “job interview” skit involving Kris Aquino that quickly gained attention on Facebook.

“Bored ako nun, ginawan ko ng meme si Madam Kris, 'tapos nag-viral sa Facebook,” he said.

The skit humorously edited clips of Kris Aquino repeatedly answering “No” during a fake interview setup, making it appear as though she was already taking control of the situation despite supposedly being the applicant.

To his surprise, Kris Aquino herself saw the viral content and reached out to him directly.

“Nakita niya [yung video], minessage niya ako, 'tapos in-offer-an niya ako ng trabaho,” Fonz shared.

At that time, Kris reportedly had no idea that Fonz was struggling with uncertainty about his future. Still, her gesture became a life-changing opportunity for him.

“As in nagtatatalon talaga ako,” he admitted.

Fonz eventually joined Kris Aquino’s team as a production assistant before later becoming a junior producer for her vlog productions. He worked with the actress-host for nearly three years, a period he now remembers with gratitude.

“Best job, apart from being a content creator and pagiging artista,” he said.

The content creator also praised Kris Aquino for how she treated her staff, recalling how generous she was when it came to taking care of the production team’s needs, particularly food during workdays.

Fonz, whose real name is Aldrich Nartia, is a Filipino digital content creator, comedian, and actor from Cavite who originally worked as a barista in Singapore before getting his start in entertainment as a production assistant and junior producer for Kris Aquino. He is widely famous for his highly relatable, multi-character comedic TikTok skits—frequently featuring his trademark handheld microphone—which earned him over 1.5 million followers and paved the way for his mainstream television acting debut in the 2026 series Apoy sa Dugo.
