Actor Roi Vinzon opened up about his initial hesitation regarding his son Anton Vinzon’s participation in Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0, revealing that he was not immediately in favor of the idea of him entering the reality show house.

During his guest appearance on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda last May 22, Roi admitted that his first reaction was concern over being separated from his son during important family occasions.

“Hindi ko alam kung ano ang mangyayari sa kaniya kasi ayoko matagal — ano, New Year, Christmas, wala ka sa 'min?” said Roi Vinzon.

The veteran actor explained that the idea of spending the holidays without Anton was difficult for him to accept at first. However, his perspective eventually changed after his son personally explained what happens inside the PBB house and what the experience involves.

“Pero kung halimbawa, explain mo sa 'kin kung anong ginagawa sa PBB, okay, let's see. Nu'ng dumating siya sa puntong ganun, sabi ko, actually, at least alam ko na nandoon siya, safe siya. Sabi ko, okay, okay,” Roi added.

After understanding the situation better and being assured of his son’s safety, Roi eventually became more supportive of Anton’s decision to join the reality show. He also expressed relief knowing that Anton was in a controlled environment where he could grow and gain experience.

The actor also shared a meaningful moment when he was able to visit Anton inside the Pinoy Big Brother house on December 27, which gave him a chance to spend time with his son during the holiday season despite the physical separation.

“Okay siya, okay naman. May nangyari naman sa kaniya sa PBB pagkatapos. Kaya thank you so much,” Roi said, reflecting on his son’s experience after the show.

Meanwhile, Anton Vinzon also expressed gratitude after leaving the Bahay ni Kuya on January 4, thanking everyone who supported his journey and helped him grow as a person.

“I just want to thank you po sa suporta n'yo, sa love n'yo, and care n'yo po sa akin. And throughout this journey binigyan po talaga ako ng opportunity to grow as a person talaga,” Anton shared in a post-show Instagram video.

Anton Vinzon is an 18-year-old Filipino actor and model who grew up in the world of show business as the son of veteran action star Roi Vinzon. Initially starting his career with the Sparkle Teens and gaining public attention on Pinoy Big Brother, he is widely famous today for his acclaimed performance in Mga Batang Riles and for stepping into his first solo lead role in the GMA sports drama series Kamao.
