Toni Gonzaga overjoyed as Alex Gonzaga announces pregnancy after years of heartbreak

Actress-host Toni Gonzaga shared her joy and gratitude after younger sister Alex Gonzaga announced that she is expecting her first child following years of struggles and heartbreak.

Alex revealed the pregnancy through social media on Thursday, where she opened up about her journey with husband and Lipa Vice Mayor Mikee Morada. The announcement quickly gained massive attention online, especially from supporters who were aware of her previous pregnancy losses.

“After six years of marriage and three heartbreaking losses,” says Alex, “Lord Jesus blessed us with a natural pregnancy.”

The actress-vlogger also shared that they had already been preparing for in vitro fertilization before receiving what she described as a blessing.

In an exclusive interview with The Philippine STAR, Toni admitted that the news became an emotional moment for their entire family, who had long been praying for Alex to experience motherhood.

“Sobrang grateful to God na finally sinagot na Niya prayers naming family para kay Alex na ma-experience niya yung joy of motherhood and pregnancy,” says Toni.

The television host said the family continues to pray for Alex’s safe pregnancy, delivery, and growing family after years of waiting.

“We’re praying till the finish line that everything will really go well,” says Toni.

Despite her excitement, Toni admitted she initially felt nervous because of Alex’s previous losses.

“Alam mo yung happy ka, but at the same time kinakabahan ka rin for her,” says Toni.

She also joked that she feels like she is expecting a child herself because of how close she is to her younger sister.

Meanwhile, Toni said their parents, Mommy Pinty and Daddy Bonoy, are equally thrilled about welcoming another grandchild into the family.

According to Toni, faith has always been the foundation that helped their family survive difficult challenges together.

Toni Gonzaga is among the most recognizable personalities in Philippine entertainment, known for her work as an actress, TV host, singer, and digital content creator. She married director Paul Soriano on June 12, 2015, in Taytay, Rizal. The couple has two children, Severiano Elliott or Seve, and Paulina Celestine, affectionately called Polly.
