“Thank you artists are citizens first. We all have a responsibility to stay informed and care about the issues that affect people’s lives ” Jodi replied.

Her response quickly circulated online, with many netizens praising her for standing firm on her beliefs despite criticism. Some supporters pointed out that celebrities also have the right to express their opinions as Filipino citizens, especially on matters that affect society.

Others, however, continued debating whether celebrities should openly discuss politics on social media platforms.

The issue also resurfaced after Jodi recently shared a reminder online encouraging people to be more careful and discerning about the individuals they support and admire.

“You become the person you worship. Whatever or whoever you devote yourself to eventually shapes your character, values, and identity,” the actress previously said.

Her post came in the wake of the commotion inside the Senate on May 13 involving Ronald dela Rosa, more popularly known as Bato dela Rosa.
