Fil-British actress and filmmaker Bela Padilla is officially back in the local rhythm of show business, marking a significant return after her stint in the United Kingdom. During the Nivea Brightest Spot caravan held on April 25 in Muntinlupa City, the multi-hyphenate star opened up about her transition from student life abroad back to the demanding schedules of the Philippine entertainment industry.

Padilla, who attended acting school while based in the UK last year, admitted that the homecoming required a period of adjustment.

"Okay naman. I’ve been very busy since I got back. Ngayon busy sa taping. Nanibago ako nung una, pero ngayon medyo ilang buwan na kami nag-te-taping so ano na, back na ako sa regular rhythm," she shared.

Despite her busy taping schedule, she hinted at a desire to pursue more prestige projects, noting that she is simply waiting for the perfect timing to conclude current commitments.

Beyond acting, Padilla discussed the roots of her passion for writing, creditng her mother's love for books as a foundational influence. She explained that her foray into screenwriting was born out of a desire to see more diverse roles in the industry.

"I felt like there was a gap in the industry for what I wanted to watch and maybe because I wasn’t being offered the roles I wanted to play, parang sometimes, 'di ba, invention comes out of necessity," Padilla explained.

She confirmed that she is currently developing new scripts in collaboration with ABS-CBN.

The event also touched upon her personal life, as the actress is currently single following the end of a five-year relationship. When asked for travel advice for other single women, she lightheartedly suggested the beach as a prime destination.

"For single ladies, naku kung alam ko yan eh di sana doon ako nagpunta. Siguro sa beach. Madaming mababait na tao sa beach," she said with a laugh.

Padilla concluded by sharing her affinity for the sun, noting that she frequents the beach for free diving and enjoys the Salcedo market. Even with her love for a "healthy glow," she remains vigilant about skincare.

"I make sure my skin is healthy so gumagamit pa rin ako ng sunscreen kahit na nagpapaaraw ako lagi," she clarified.

She emphasized that there was no hidden issue behind it and urged netizens to refrain from creating stories or spreading misinformation online.

Meanwhile, Bela Padilla recently shared a heartfelt birthday message for Kim Chiu on Instagram, delighting fans of their friendship.
