"You know sometimes that's life, you just keep moving forward and just trust in God whatever comes my way. If He thinks that that's the person, then you know, so be it," he added.
The actor also shared that he has started opening up socially again after a period of stepping back from the spotlight.
"I've been talking to people after such a long time. I think very late, but I think is, you know, mahirap din mag-isa, hindi ba?" he said.
Gil also reflected on his past relationship with Soberano, describing it with gratitude and respect. While they are no longer in constant communication, he noted that they still occasionally check in with each other.
"I could say we're not that in touch but we were in touch still at times especially when important things happens in our lives. Maybe check on each other. But my life is all here, her life is there. I just wish her all the best of course. I really hope everything works out for her there and all her dreams will come true. I'm happy for whatever is going on for her right now," he said.
He echoed Soberano’s earlier statement about their breakup, calling it a meaningful chapter.
"I think the respect will always be there. I think we'll always have some sort of love for each other because we basically grew up together. That's how we are," he said.
Looking back, Gil described their relationship as a significant part of his life.
"I would consider that. She was my childhood sweetheart. We really had some really, really great memories and I'm just really thankful for those memories," he said.
Soberano confirmed their split last year, ending years of speculation surrounding their relationship.
Enrique Gil is a Filipino actor, dancer, and model who built his career through a mix of television dramas and romantic films. He first appeared in supporting roles before eventually taking on lead characters in well-known ABS-CBN series such as Princess and I, Forevermore, and Dolce Amore. Over time, he became recognized for his strong screen presence and ability to take on more mature roles, establishing himself as one of the prominent leading men of his generation.
In a separate development that also made rounds online in 2025, photos of Enrique Gil with 17-year-old content creator Andrea Brown circulated on social media, sparking speculation about a possible connection between the two. Some images showed them in relaxed and close interactions, including one where Brown appeared seated on Gil’s lap. A woman who identified herself online as Brown’s mother claimed that her daughter is still a minor. Meanwhile, an anonymous fan alleged that the two had been communicating since June.
During the same year, Soberano also publicly addressed their split. She was featured in Sarah Bahbah’s YouTube project Can You Come in?, where she was asked about love teams and her perspective on them, offering insight into her experiences in the industry and her personal journey.
