Danica Sotto couldn’t hide her pride as she spoke about her younger brother, Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto, whom she described as the epitome of a “true public servant.”

In an interview with ABS-CBN News while promoting the second season of her YouTube show House of D, Danica said she deeply admires her brother’s sincerity in public service.

“Sobrang proud ako kay Vico,” she said. “He didn’t stop there. Hindi siya na-secure na parang, ‘Okay. Nakaupo na ako.’ That’s how you know that he’s not after the power.”

She highlighted the young mayor’s humility and grounded leadership, saying, “Makikita mo naman kahit sa mga interview. Naka-ID [siya]. Kasi gusto niyang iparamdam na, ‘I'm also an employee. Like you guys. And I'm here to serve.’”

She added that her brother often shies away from praise despite his accomplishments.

For Danica, Vico’s political journey is driven by his desire to create change.

“I feel it's really because he really wants to make a difference. Pagod na siya sa bulok na sistema,” she explained. “Proud ako pero ayaw ko rin siyang i-pressure.”

When asked about the possibility of her brother running for higher office someday, Danica said she entrusts everything to divine timing.

“Ipinagdarasal ko kung ano ‘yung will ni Lord... I know God has amazing plans for him.”
She also shared a hopeful wish: “I wish there would be so many Vico Sottos in every municipality. Sana lahat ng mayor ay katulad niya.”
