Vice Ganda is a Filipino actor, host, musician and a stand-up comedian most recognizable as a regular host in ABS-CBN Network’s long-running afternoon variety show “It’s Showtime” (2009). He is the lead star of several Filipino blockbuster films such as “The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin” (2011), “Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy” (2013), and several other films that majorly capitalize on a satirical portrayal of his sexuality.

As a musician, Vice is also largely successful, having released several hit singles under Star Music. Vice has also made guest appearances in the concerts of major record artists such as Regine Velasquez and Anne Curtis-Smith.

The star grew up in Tondo, Manila raised by his parents, Rosario Viceral and Reynaldo Viceral. In 1991, Vice’s father was working as a barangay captain in Manila when he was shot by unknown assailants. The tragic event compelled their mother to leave their home and work abroad as a caregiver.

The actor has attained massive success in the film industry through his lead roles in several comedy films. In 2010, Vice was first cast as the titular character in “Petrang Kabayo", a movie about a wealthy gay man who turns into a horse when he gets angry. The movie was soon followed by another comedy film titled “The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin” which became the highest-grossing Filipino film of 2011.

The success of the comedy films led by the star prompted studios to cast him in movies alongside other veteran comedians. In the movie "This Guy's In Love with U Mare!" Vice Ganda life story

The actor grew up in a neighbourhood in Tondo, Manila. During his childhood, Vice was hesitant to reveal his true sexuality to his father because two of his brothers already identified as gay. Vice’s father worked as the barangay captain and would claim that Vice was his favourite child.

Tragedy struck the Viceral family a week before Vice’s 15th birthday. Vice’s father, Reynaldo Viceral was killed by a gunshot in front of Vice and his mother. The incident happened just outside their house, leaving their home lives shaken.

In a press conference for Praybeyt Benjamin, Vice recalled the tragic event, describing it as heavy, traumatic, and emotionally scarring. In that same conference, he stated that the healing process was not easy because his father died during their attempt to take his bloody body to the nearest hospital (Chinese General Hospital) for treatment.

In an episode of "It's Showtime", Vice shared that surviving the financial struggle brought on by his father's untimely demise was not easy. To make money, his mother would knit rags that he would, later on, sell to jeepney drivers. That was until his mother left home to work abroad as a means to provide.

Later on, Vice Ganda studied Political Science at Far Eastern University. He started his career as a stand-up comedian for Punchline and the Library, where he picked up the nickname "Vice Ganda”. He then spent several years working in comedy clubs to hone his skills. His earliest known partners in stand-up comedy are John Lapus, Chokoleit, and Pooh.

In latest news, the actor is rumoured but not confirmed to be in a relationship with fashion model and social media personality Ion Perez. Earlier this year, Vice and Ion gathered their families in one room, leading online fans to speculate that they are officially together. However, during an interview with an ABS-CBN Network reporter, Perez denied being romantically involved with Vice:

“Sobrang malapit lang kami sa isa’t isa kaya siguro 'yung mga tao nag-iisip sila, ganun' yung nagiging reaksyon nila”, Perez explained.

In an earlier guest appearance in Vice's talk show, however, Perez did admit that Vice is "special" to him, a statement met by Vice with a humorous denial. The two continue to jokingly hint about their relationship in T.V. appearances.
