GMA News reported that Rochelle showed up at the police station when she heard that a suspect with the same name as one of the suspects in her sister's case was arrested.
“I’m here to identify if the person arrested today is the same person suspected in the killing of my sister,” Barrameda said,in Inquirer's report.
“It’s him. I know him as Lope Jimenez,” she added.

Rochelle then noted that the manner was the same, mentioning similarities between her sister's murder in 2007 and that of the present case of the businessman.
“Same pa rin, drum, baon sa lupa, baon sa dagat. Ganoon pa rin ‘yung ginagawa nila, katulad ng ginawa nila sa kapatid ko," she said in "24 Oras Weekend" report.
She then mentioned that if the case of her sister did not attain justice, if the suspect gets sentenced in the present case, it would still be like justice for her sister too.
“Hindi man sa kaso ng kapatid ko o sa kaso nila magkaroon ng katarungan, at least sa isang kaso na doon siya masentensiyahan, para na rin kaming nagkaroon ng hustisya,” she said.

According to a report by the Daily Mail UK, the family was victimized by a "silent killer" - carbon monoxide. As it turned out, the propane heating system at the lakefront house malfunctioned, prompting the entire family to be poisoned as they slept that night. Currently, investigators don't know yet as to why it happened; also, there were no carbon monoxide alarms found in the home.
In another viral local report, a 6-year-old kid from Naga City, Cebu, died after being hit by an SUV. According to reports, the victim and its parents were on their way to San Fernando, Cebu, to ask for Christmas presents. However, they were struck by an SUV, killing the kid and injuring the parents. The SUV driver admitted he fell asleep because of exhaustion, he will be facing multiple complaints because of the incident.
