Isko Moreno aired his thoughts regarding Doc Willie Ong being diagnosed with abdominal cancer.

In a report by GMA News' Balitambayan, Isko said in a statement that he talked to Doc Willie and his wife, Dra. Lisa, last Friday—a day before the cardiologist publicized his health condition.

"Nalulungkot ako at the same time hoping for his quick recovery," the former Manila mayor stated.

Isko likewise shared his uplifting message for Doc Willie, his friend, and tandem during the 2022 Elections.

"Sabi ko maraming nagmamahal sa kaniya at umaasa sa mga gabay at payo niya sa kalusugan na mga kababayan natin."

"Sinabi ko tatagan niya ang kaniyang kalooban at may awa ang Diyos na malalagpasan din niya ang pagsubok na kinakaharap niya," Isko aired.

Furthermore, Isko urged the public to pray for Doc Willie's recovery and include the latter's family in their prayers as well.

Born on October 24. 1963, Dr. Willie Ong is cardiologist who served as consultant of the Department of Health from 2010 to 2014. He graduated the De La Salle University College of Medicine in 1992, and earned his Master in Public Health degree from the University of the Philippines Manila in 2002. He ran for vice president in the 2022 Elections.

Doc Willie Ong, a cardiologist and health advocate, is undergoing treatment for cancer. He took to his social media pages to reveal that he has a large abdominal cancer. He said doctors found a 16 x 13 x 12 centimeter sarcoma in his abdomen, hidden behind his heart and in front of his spine. In his vlog, Doc Willie said his condition is serious, but he optimistically expressed, "I will fight this battle."
