Karylle is a Pinay singer, actress, TV host and musical theatre performer. She is highly regarded as "OPMs Showbiz Royalty". She has also received nomination for the "Best Actress for TV Series-Drama" in one of Europe’s most prestigious television awards, the Monte-Carlo TV Festival. In 2002, she won "Best New Artist" at MTV Philippines. She is a regular host on ABS-CBN's noontime variety show It's Showtime.

In a previous report by KAMI, Karylle’s sudden filing of a leave of absence from the noontime show, “It’s Showtime,” created a buzz on social media. The singer-actress is one of the main hosts of the noontime show alongside Vice Ganda, Vhong Navarro, Anne Curtis, Kim Chiu, Amy Perez, and many more. According to Karylle, she wants to focus more on theatre for the meantime after being accepted in the audition for ‘The Sound of Music’, though she also admitted she hasn’t fully explained this yet to her colleagues in Showtime. It can be recalled that Karylle became one of the most talked about hosts of “It’s Showtime” after Vice Ganda allegedly subjected her to ridicule, something that did not sit well with many netizens.

Earlier, Vice Ganda issued an apology to his co-host, Karylle, for the joke he made on the show. Previously, Vice was called out by netizens for his alleged 'unfair treatment' towards Karylle. On his Twitter page, the 'Unkabogable Star' revealed he actually asked Karylle if she was offended by the joke. He then went on to reassure their fans and followers that both he and Karylle are okay.
