The photo was apparently taken at the height of “The Voice Kids Season 1” where the singer-songwriter was one of the top contenders.

Also referred to by his initials, JK, he eventually finished third place, right behind Darren Espanto who was declared first runner-up and Lyca Gairanod, who emerged as the champion.

In the throwback photo that he posted, one can see the smiling 13-year-old JK eager to board the stage and show what he’s capable of.

One can also see former Rivermaya frontman, singer-songwriter Bamboo Mañalac, one of the coaches in The Voice Kids, and JK’s coach.

In the caption, JK expressed his gratitude to the reality singing contest for the opportunities it opened for him and then proudly declared he’ll forever be one of Kamp Kawayan.

“Forever kamp kawayan baby Thank you The Voice. Until next time ❤️,” JK wrote in his X post.

Juan Karlos Labajo, also known as JK Labajo, is a singer-composer and the frontman of a band that carries his own name, Juan Karlos. He rose to fame after becoming one of the top contenders in the popular talent competition, "The Voice Kids Philippines" way back in 2014. He placed third in the said contest, just right behind Darren Espanto and Lyca Gairanod. After The Voice, JK appeared in various shows and flicks on TV. Aside from his acting career, JK is also known as the voice and creator of the songs 'Buwan' and 'Ere'.

Last month, JK posted a photo of his rumored girlfriend, Dia Mate, on social media. Dia is the province of Cavite's representive to the Miss Universe Philippines pageant. JK asked for support from his followers by voting for his "beautiful bebe." In the comments section, many noticed the comment of JK who laughed because for him, the situation is like a "de ja vu." It can be recalled that JK also asked for support from his followers when his ex-girlfriend, Maureen Worblewitz, joined as one of the contestants of the MUPH in previous years.

At around the same time, JK shared a couple of photos taken during his show in Orani Bataan. In the photos, he was with some medics, who perhaps attended to him after he sustained injury in his leg. JK thanked those who cared for him after the unexpected incident. While the singer-composer did not give any details about his injury, there were some netizens in the comments section who alleged that JK tripped during the show.
