Aiko Melendez, herself a revered actress with a stellar career, took to social media to express her admiration for Sharon Cuneta's performance.

In a heartfelt online post, Aiko commended Sharon's stellar performance in the MMFF film, Family of Two, which also stars Alden Richards.

On January 6, Saturday, Aiko took to her Instagram page, @aikomelendez, to upload a photo she and her friends took with the poster of the film.

Following this news, Aiko penned a short but heartfelt message for her "Ate" Sharon, calling the latter "Maricar," which is the name of her character in the film.

"Dearest ate @reallysharoncuneta "Maricar," you made us all cry, smile, and appreciate our mothers more," Aiko wrote, commending Sharon in her post.

Needless to say, a lot of netizens also agreed with Aiko's post, with some commending Sharon's performance as well, after watching her film with Alden.

Aiko Melendez is a well-known showbiz personality. She received the Best Supporting Actress award in 2018 for her role in "Rainbow's Sunset." Aiko ran for and won a seat on the Quezon City Council in 2001. She served for nine years until 2010.

As previously reported by KAMI, Aiko Melendez recently turned emotional over her daughter's graduation. Just recently, Marthena Jickain completed a course in law with Oxford Summer Courses. Following this news, a graduation was held, which made Aiko a "teary-eyed mama." According to Aiko, all her sleepless and tireless nights were worth it.
