According to Aiko, she has been criticized because the video seemed and felt unruly, especially since they were inside a session hall.

"Ang TikTok ay one of the social media platforms na nakakaaliw po. Usually, ang mga pinopost po dun na mga content is medyo masaya na parte po. Syempre, yun mga konsehal na kasama ko nung araw na yun, Nay Cristy and Sis Romel, para lang dun sa mga di po nakakaalam, kasi binabatikos po ako ngayon na parang napaka-unruly daw, wala raw sa decorum, and wala raw sa ruling ng council," she said.

However, Aiko briefly apologized before explaining her side of the story, with regards to the viral video.

"Sa mga di po nakakaintindi, paumanhin po. Siguro, Nay Cristy, I'm in a world na syempre, artista pa rin ako at public servant, hindi ko talaga mapi-please lahat ng tao. Ang nakakalungkot lang po, Nay Cristy and Sis Romel, sa dami ng ginagawa ko for the past years, di nila napapansin yung kasipagan ko, and modesty aside, Nay Cristy, iisa po ako sa konsehal ng Quezon City na walang absent po," she revealed.

Aiko Melendez is a well-known showbiz personality. She received the Best Supporting Actress award in 2018 for her role in "Rainbow's Sunset." Aiko ran for and won a seat on the Quezon City Council in 2001. She served for nine years until 2010.
