Ricardo Cepeda, a well-known face in Philippine cinema, was arrested last October 7 by authorities on charges of syndicated estafa.

In a report by the Philippine Star, the veteran actor was arrested and taken into custody by Quezon City Police District operatives around 11 in the morning, Saturday, in Caloocan City.

In a related report by Abante Tonite, the actor, whose real name is Richard Cesar Cepeda Go, was in a restobar in Maypajo, Caloocan City, for a ‘gig’ when he was arrested.

The warrant of arrest was issued by Sanchez Mira, Cagayan Province Regional Trial Court Executive Judge Gemma Bucayu-Madrid.

According to the Abante report, QCPD-Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit chief, P/Maj. Don Don Llapitan revaled that the arrest of Cepeda is related to Criminal Case No. 4550-S(23) and is about Syndicated Estafa under Art. 315, (2) (a) of the Revised Penal Code in relation to Pres. Decree No. 1689.

No other details were provided aside from the charges that the veteran actor is facing.

The actor is a well-known figure in Philippine TV and movie, having played various roles in multiple films like “Doll House” where he played the military father of Baron Geisler.

In a Manila Bulletin report last year, Cepeda is also among the powerhouse cast of its afternoon TV series, “Return to Paradise,” where he also played the role of a father of one of the lead stars.

Ricardo Cepeda, whose real name is Richard Cesar Cepeda Go, is a Pinoy veteran actor who made a name for himself in Philippine TV and cinema. He is 57 years old, having been born on October 11, 1964 in Manila, Philippines. He is known for movies like “Una Kang Naging Akin” which was released in 2008, the 2009 movie Kaya Kong Abutin Ang Langit () and the TV series, Ang Probinsyano. He is the ex-husband of actress Snooky Serna.

In 2018, Cepeda’s ex-wife, Snooky, came out and revealed the main reason for her separation from her husband. She said that she had mental illness at the time and their financial difficulties contributed to their problems as a couple.
