The management of "E.A.T." executed an apology letter addressed to the MTRCB regarding the "lubid" joke made by Joey De Leon.

Jeny Ferre, the head of creatives and production operations of "E.A.T." wrote the letter.

It explained what transpired during the Sept. 23 segment, and said that when Joey conveyed the answer, he did not elaborate on it.

She then stated that the whole management is "regretful and apologetic" for it.

Here is the crux of the letter obtained by Inquirer.

"During the said incident, Mr. Joey de Leon suggested 'lubid' (rope) as an answer to a question regarding things that may be worn around the neck."
"He conveyed this verbally in a very brief manner without further actions, elaborations or demonstrations. However, some viewers interpreted the utterance of the said object to be an insinuation of a person taking his own life, which is a very sensitive and triggering subject."
"In this regard, the whole E.A.T. management is regretful and apologetic to those who were offended by the said utterance. Rest assured that we are one with MTRCB in advocating a responsible viewing experience for the public."

Joey de Leon is an iconic actor, comedian, and television host in the Philippines. He is a member of the comedy trio Tito, Vic and Joey and has made several comedy movies and TV shows. Joey is also best known for being a pioneer host of the longest-running noontime show in the country, “Eat Bulaga.” It premiered on July 30, 1979.

The comedian replied “Lubid, lubid. Nakakalimutan n’yo” when a contestant on E.A.T. asked about things that are hung around the neck. Many netizens called on MTRCB to penalize the show for Joey’s joke. MTRCB has now released a statement regarding the scene. They will investigate whether Joey violated “Presidential Decree No. 1986 and/or its Implementing Rules and Regulations.”

Tito, Vic, and Joey (TVJ) welcomed Atasha Muhlach with open arms into the "Dabarkads." She is the daughter of premier actor Aga Muhlach and beauty queen Charlene Gonzales. In a Twitter post, TVJ made the announcement and said that she is their "newest Dabarkads." A lot of netizens expressed their happiness and support for the new Dabarkads member.
