Ogie Diaz tried to mimic the way David Licauco sang during the serenade segment of Miss Grand Philippines.
This was after the video of the performance of the “Pambansang Ginoo” during the said beauty pageant surfaced online.
In today’s episode of “Ogie Diaz Showbiz Updates,” Ogie and his co-hosts, Mama Loi and Diosa Pockoh, discussed the performance of the actor and also read the comments of netizens.
According to Ogie, some netizens called David’s singing as “walang kalatoy-latoy,” or loosely translated, lackluster.

Upon the prodding of his co-hosts, Ogie appeared to mimic the way the “Pambansang Ginoo” sang the song.
Mama Loi then blurted out: “Wala ngang kalatoy-latoy,” referring to Ogie’s singing of the song.
Ogie defended his singing, saying that he was just trying to follow the manner it was sung.
Ogie Diaz is an actor, comedian, entertainment reporter, and talent manager. He was known as “Pekto” in the popular TV sitcom, “Palibhasa Lalaki.” He is also behind the YouTube channel “Ogie Diaz Showbiz Update.” He became a successful talent manager and once handled the careers of Vice Ganda and Liza Soberano.
In a previous post, the showbiz reporter and talent manager posted a cute video of his daughter Erin with Sparkle artist John Clifford. The video shows Erin and John posing for photos during the latter’s 17th birthday party. In the caption, Ogie teased his daughter and wrote, “Kilig na kilig.” The talent manager also dubbed the young actor “Cha Eun Woo ng Pinas.”
In another social media post, Ogie also reminisced about a movie that he says helped him become known in the showbiz industry. In a screengrab that he shared online, Ogie said that he’s with actor John Estrada in the said film. The showbiz reporter also remarked that John was mischievous as he poked Ogie while the latter was cooking. The said screengrab that Ogie posted showed that the movie he was referring to was “May Minamahal,” which was released in 1993.
