Jake Ejercito, in an exclusive interview with the entertainment website, PUSH, said that there is no shame in shopping for clothes in “ukay-ukay” stores.
During the interview, the actor also admitted shopping for vintage band shirts in “ukay” stores.

“I'm really into vintage band shirts. 'Yun ang hinahanap ko sa ukay,” Jake said during the exclusive interview with PUSH.
He also said he’s aware some people would do their shopping in “ukay” stores secretly so as to avoid others saying negative things about it.

However, the actor indicated he’s not one of them, saying that people should not be ashamed of buying or wearing clothes from such stores.
“There's no shame in ukay. Huwag ka mahiya na bumili o magsuot ng galing ukay,” the actor said.
In a separate interview with CNN, Jake said that for him, it’s an honor to be one of the casts in the series.
According to PUSH, Kim Chiu, the main star of the series and Jake’s co-cast, also revealed in another interview that she wore an “ukay” find to her prom night.

“Madaming memorable finds eh. May mga pantalon, may mga tops. Most especially may mga gowns na pang-JS prom. 'Yung suot ko sa JS prom, ukay 'yun. Tapos nanalo pa akong Lady of the Night,” Kim reportedly said according to PUSH.
In a press conference lately, Kim also expressed her gratitude to ABS-CBN for having been given the role.
“Expect nothing, appreciate everything,” Kim said during the presscon for the series "Fit Check."
Jake Ejercito is a Filipino actor who has starred in several movies such as Marry Me, Marry You, Mansyon, and Coming Home. He was born on March 27, 1990, to actress Laarni Enriquez and actor-turned-politician former President Joseph “Erap” Ejercito Estrada. He is also known for being the father of Ellie, his daughter with Andi Eigenmann.
Recently, the actor took to social media and shared his recent exchange with his daughter, Ellie. According to a screenshot posted by Jake, Ellie and the actor talked about the latter's new series, "Fit Check: Confessions of An Ukay Queen." He informed his daughter that the series is now available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Ellie then had a cold-hearted reply, prompting Jake to pen a hilarious caption.
His amusing with "Fit Check" co-star Kim Chiu also made rounds on social media. In the video, Jake was seen pulling a prank on the actress. The actor made a high-pitched sound in Kimmy's ear, making the latter shocked. Kim and Jake will star in Amazon Original comedy-drama series "Fit Check: Confessions of An Ukay Queen."
