A song sounding like the familiar theme of “Eat Bulaga,” albeit with new lyrics and vibe, played in the background.

In a caption on his post, the comedian has also reiterated the battle cry that their group, TVJ and the “Dabarkads,” has adopted

“GO FOR THE GOLD! @jhettbaroma,” Joey wrote.

It is not yet clear whether the comic trio of TVJ would be carrying the brand name of “Eat Bulaga,” in parallel to that of GMA7’s program of the same name and showing in the same time slot.

Recently, MediaQuest, one of the parent companies of TV5, has announced it has entered into an agreement with TVJ and the “Dabarkads” to provide content for the Kapatid channel.

In a subsequent interview after MediaQuest’s announcement, Tito revealed their “Go for gold” battle cry as mentioned by Joey.

"Eat Bulaga" is the longest-running noontime variety program on Philippine television. The show premiered on July 30, 1979. Its pioneer hosts include showbiz icons Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, and Tito Sotto. "Eat Bulaga" went back live on air on GMA with its new lineup of hosts last Monday.

Previously, Joey reposted the social media post made by his son Jako recently. In the said socmed post, Jako appeared to highlight the importance of a family. It can be recalled that Jako also posted his reaction online as regards the events that transpired on May 31. It was the day that Joey, along with Tito and Vic Sotto, severed their ties with TAPE, Inc., the producer of the popular noontime show, “Eat Bulaga.”

More recently in an interview conducted by MJ Marfori, one of the "Dabarkads," Maine Mendoza, expressed her full support to the comic trio of Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey De Leon, otherwise known as TVJ. The actress also revealed it was her personal choice to go wherever TVJ goes and that no one forced her into making that decision. She said that it was her and her fellow “Dabarkads’” decision to also resign en masse in a show of solidarity with the comic trio. It can be recalled that right after TVJ announced they are parting ways with TAPE, Inc., the producer of “Eat Bulaga,” the co-hosts, often referred to as “Dabarkads,” also resigned.
