- Yesterday, June 7, MediaQuest Holdings, Inc., the parent company of TV5, released a statement confirming that it has entered into an agreement with TVJ for the latter to create content on the said TV station

Wally Bayola, in a recent interview with MJ Marfori, has revealed he opted to leave TAPE despite being one of those being chosen by the latter to stay on as hos of “Eat Bulaga” on GMA7.

It can be recalled that Wally was among the co-hosts of the noontime show who resigned en masse in a show of solidarity with Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey De Leon, otherwise known as TVJ.

The comic trio, who have been the main hosts of “Eat Bulaga” since its inception in 1979, announced mid-program that they are disassociating themselves from TAPE, Inc., the producer of the noontime show.

In his interview recently, Wally explained that his decision to go with the comic trio is his own personal choice.

“I go for the group eh. Kahit pa sabihing meron nang lumalabas na pinipili kami to stay, na-overwhelm ka pero hindi eh, hindi talaga,” the co-host explained.

He then reiterated his declaration of support for TVJ, stating that wherever the comic trio go, he would also go.

“Kung saan yung TVJ, andun ako,” Wally said.

Yesterday, June 7, one of the two parent companies of TV 5, MediaQuest Holdings, Inc., released a statement confirming that it has entered into an agreement with TVJ to provide content.

MediaQuest Holdings, Inc. is a corporation with majority stakes owned by Manny V. Pangilinan.

According to MediaQuest, TVJ and the “Dabarkads,” of which Wally is part of, has agreed to provide content to TV5 and other companies under the umbrella of the parent company.

"Eat Bulaga" is the longest-running noontime variety program on Philippine television. The show premiered on July 30, 1979. Its pioneer hosts include showbiz icons Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, and Tito Sotto. "Eat Bulaga" went back live on air on GMA with its new lineup of hosts last Monday.

Wally has also recently taken social media and reacted to the good news about TVJ. The iconic trio — consisting of Tito, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon — and their co-hosts on “Eat Bulaga” will transfer to TV5. In an Instagram post, Wally shared a teaser video about their forthcoming show on the network - In the caption, the comedian also wrote a short yet exciting message to their fans.

He was also among the topics of Cristy Fermin last May. In one of the episodes of Cristy Ferminute, revealed that a source told her the talent fee of Wally Bayola and Jose Manalo, which is supposed to be paid by TAPE, have also been delayed. This was before all the hosts and co-hosts of "Eat Bulaga" under GMA7 resigned and the issue about TAPE's alleged delayed payments of TFs was at its height. Cristy also said her source went on to say this is why the two would often do "lagare" in terms of work just to earn a living. The delayed in TF payments by TAPE was first divulged by Tito Sotto in an earlier interview.
