Cornejo was not present during the hearing. Navarro, on the other hand, attended the hearing through video conferencing, the report says.

On Tuesday, Navarro was arraigned at Taguig Regional Trial Court Branch 69 where he refused to enter any plea upon the advice of his counsel Atty. Alma Mallonga. As a result, the court filed a "not guilty" plea on his behalf, as stated under court rules, Philstar.com noted.

Earlier, Manila Bulletin reported that Navarro would file a petition for bail for his release from detention in connection with the charges filed against him by the model.

Deniece Cornejo’s grandfather, Atty. Axel Gonzalez, recently expressed his personal opinion on the model’s lawsuit against Vhong Navarro. Atty. Gonzalez said he believes it would be better if the two parties would just settle their conflict. Cristy Fermin then tackled the statement in the latest episode of “Cristy Ferminute." According to the showbiz columnist, Cornejo’s grandfather’s sentiment drew mixed reactions from people.

Earlier, Cristy Fermin also expressed her honest thoughts on the news that Atty. Ferdinand Topacio has officially quit as the lead counsel of Deniece Cornejo. He said he is disassociating and distancing himself from the prosecution of Vhong Navarro in the case filed by the model. Fermin then aired her belief that the lawyer is a big loss in Cornejo's camp.
