Nonie Buencamino and his wife, Shamaine Buencamino, took to social media to post about their late daughter, Julia Buencamino. Julia passed away in 2015 at the age of 15 amid her private battle with mental illness.

Last December 5, Shamaine reminisced about her daughter on what would have been her 22nd birthday.
According to Shamaine, she is still grieving for her daughter and that grief is a part of who she is and proof of her love for Julia.
“She would have been 22 today. Happy birthday my love. I’m blessed with the opportunity to not just sit with, but see and talk to my grief at @alyahonasan ‘s session today at the healing heARTS workshop.

“Alya’s meditative introduction to journal writing made me aware of why I have to sit with my sadness specially on anniversaries or birthdays like today. Journaling allows us to hold our loved ones closer to our hearts. My grief is proof of my love for Julia. It is part of who I am,” Shamaine wrote.
As for Nonie, he confessed to waking up on December 5 missing his daughter and thinking about her. He also expressed his love for Julia.
“Happy birthday Our Dearest Julia! We miss you! I woke up missing you and thinking of you today. I love you,” Nonie posted on Instagram.
Nonie Buencamino is the son of Kundiman composer Francisco Beltran Buencamino Sr. and the brother of composer Nonong Buencamino.
He is married to veteran actress Shamaine Centenera-Buencamino, who he has four children with, including the late Julia Buencamino.
In a past report by KAMI, Nonie was interviewed about Julia’s death. He shared that he is not afraid of death anymore because of his daughter’s death. He also urged parents to monitor their children’s activities closely so that they would know if their kids are suffering from mental health issues.
In a past interview, Nonie compared the teleseryes made by the two giant networks ABS-CBN and GMA-7. The veteran actor praised ABS-CBN’s high production values while he described the story concepts of GMA-7 as unusual.
